Also known as "National Bosses Day". Boss's Day is a United States secular holiday celebrated on October 16. It has traditionally been a day for employees to thank their superiors for being kind and fair throughout the year. The holiday has been the source of some controversy and criticism in the United States, where it is often mocked as a Hallmark Holiday.

I think is great. We all have our parts to play in the industrial USA and it is nice to be appreciated no matter what part it is.
I like the notion of saying tks to a boss with a card and perhaps a lunch, but not with a big collection of money fr each individual employee (ever $1 depending on size of group). Basically, performance by the employee should be suficient. However, being boss ain't easy - trust me I have been on both sides of the equation. I would not want the day designated Boss' Day to mean even the bad bosses are honored. Maybe, as I type this I think it should not exist. Likewise, for the secretary/administrative assistants days as receiving good treatment from the boss should be enough - well not good so much as "fair." Something to think about. As far as the greeting cards go, well ya know only August does not have something for the USA to spend $$$. My b'day month, but I am not nationally known. Want to keep it that way. LOL.
